The most urgent task before us now is for more persons to live deeply in cultures that live shallowly. The problems we face cannot be resolved at the level we are living. These problems can only be met and resolved by more persons resisting the popular life of shallowness and choosing the intent and practice to live more deeply and bring that sense of depth into the everyday affairs of our common life together. You will never, for example, find this on an announcement for a job, but this will be what is needed for you to bring to the job. This applies in every domain of our social life. How would you know a person embodying this depth? You will, but you will not know how, for this is not about how. Depth has a practicality that does not fit your socialized understanding of any how or even of depth itself.
